Kayaking In Alaska
There are a lot of great places to go kayaking in Alaska. Some of these include:
1) Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve – This is the only national park that is entirely within an Alaskan state. This is also one of the most popular places to go kayaking in the state. There are two major glaciers that are located in the park, which is part of the Tongass National Forest. You can explore the park by boat or on foot. There are a number of trails that you can take to see the scenery and wildlife.
2) Kenai Fjords National Park – This is one of the most beautiful parks in the state. There are over 200 miles of coastline to explore. The park is made up of fjords that were carved by glaciers. There are also many beaches along the coast. You can explore the park from a boat or on foot. There is a good amount of hiking opportunities available.
3) Matanuska-Susitna Borough – This borough is home to the famous Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve. There are a lot of bald eagle nests located throughout the preserve. If you are interested in bird watching, this is the place to be. You can also take a hike through the woods and enjoy the scenery.
4) Prince William Sound – This is another one of the best places to go kayaking in Alaskan. There are a lot of islands that you can visit. You can also take a cruise through the sound. There are several places to see including glaciers, forests, mountains and islands.
5) Kenai Mountains State Recreation Area – This is a state park that offers a number of different outdoor activities. One of these is kayaking. The park is located in the Kenai Peninsula. There are a number of hiking trails that you can explore.
6) Denali National Park – This is the largest national park in Alaska. There are a lot of things to do in the park. You can take a guided tour of the park, go hiking or even fly into the park in a helicopter.
7) Katmai National Park – This is the smallest national park in the state. It is located near the town of Homer. There are a number of wildlife refuges that are located in the park. You can go fishing, hiking or even go whale watching.
