Kayaking is an exciting and enjoyable sport. It has many advantages over other water sports such as swimming, scuba diving, and boating. The most important of these advantages is that it allows you to travel far more quickly than any of these other activities. You can cover long distances in a short time.

Kayaking is also very inexpensive compared to these other activities. It is also relatively easy to learn. Most people who have never tried it will be able to learn how to kayak in a couple of hours. It is not as difficult as some people think.

There are many places to go kayaking in Virginia. Here are some of the best.

1) Rappahannock River – This river is located in the northern part of the state. It is a tributary of the Potomac River. There are several different areas along the river that are suitable for kayaking. These include the Little River, the New Bridge, the North Fork, the Pohick Church, and the Smith Creek.

2) James River – This river is located just north of Richmond. It is one of the largest rivers in the state. It is approximately 100 miles long. It is also home to many species of fish.

3) Chesapeake Bay – This bay is located in the southeastern part of the state. It contains many rivers and streams. Some of these rivers flow into the bay while others empty into it.

4) Chesapeake Beach State Park – This park is located in the southern part of the state. It has a large lake which is popular with swimmers, boaters, and fishermen. It is also a great place to go kayaking.

5) Pamunkey River – This river is located near the city of Richmond. It is a tributory of the James River.

6) Wachapreague River – This river is located about 50 miles north of Richmond. It is a small river that empties into the James River.

7) Roanoke River – This river is located east of the Blue Ridge Mountains. It is a tributarial of the James River.

8) Mattaponi River – This river is located on the border between Virginia and West Virginia. It is a tributorial of the James River.

9) Blackwater River – This river is located south of Richmond. It is a major tributorial of the James and Appomattox Rivers.

10) Tuckahoe Creek – This creek is located north of Richmond. It is fed by several springs.

11) Roanoke Rapids Dam – This dam is located on the Roanoke River. It is a popular place to go kayaking. There is a good chance that you will see bald eagles here.

12) Roanoke River – The Roanoke River is located in the northwestern part of the state. It flows through the city of Roanoke.

13) South Anna River – This river is located southwest of the city of Danville. It is a tributiary of the James River.

14) Shenandoah River – This river is located west of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

15) Staunton River – This river is located north of the Blue Ridge Mountains. There are several dams on it.
